A May 8 cyberattack interrupted access to certain IT systems. Restoring record access across the system finished by June 30. The cases on this page are public record, not our clients.

The line for your requirement.
Our record system is restored at a second site on a set schedule, timed, and the result comes to us in writing.

Version in force.
45 CFR Part 164 Subpart C. The January 2025 proposed update is not final.
Our coverage.
Recovery, encryption, logs and media disposal.³
Covered by.
Our design.
2 hours to recover inside a pod; recovery plans tested twice a year.⁴
Our test.
Every quarter, the 40 record-system VMs are restored at the second site and timed, from the locked copy.⁵
Encryption.
At rest, and in transit for management and replication traffic.³
Between sites.
The data-center link is encrypted at line rate.³
Audit logs.
Kept 12 months online and 24 months in archive.³
The rule we set.
Every drive is sanitized to NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2, with a certificate per device, or kept by you; a drive with patient data is never taken back unsanitized.³
Backups locked for 30 days. Restored every quarter.⁵
One portal. No second step.
Change Healthcare, February 2024: criminals used compromised credentials on a remote-access portal with no multi-factor authentication.⁶

Why we write it.
A portal nobody remembers is still a way in.
What it covers.
Remote support, vendor portals, and systems that came with a merger or a purchase.
How.
We list each way in with you, then try it.
What you get.
The written list, pass or fail for each way in, before you buy.
We supply Dell, HPE, NetApp, Nutanix and Veeam. Windows Server 2016 support ends January 12, 2027.⁸ We recommend the move, then deliver it.
