Security in 2026: what changed
A firewall and three identity appliances leave sale, and FortiOS 8.0 is out. Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet and Cisco security: supplied and integrated.
Four changes since December 2025 reach what a security quote can name. Your requirement should account for each.¹
Every date comes from the vendor's or publisher's own page. Third-party reports are marked.
1. The PA-5450 leaves sale
Palo Alto Networks ends sale of the PA-5450 on November 22, 2026, as it announced on May 22. The design now names a PA-5570 pair in each data center: 240 Gbps of threat prevention, with post-quantum key exchange for TLS decryption.¹

2. Cisco's identity appliances have left sale
Cisco's SNS 3715, 3755 and 3795 appliances reached end of sale on December 30, 2025. The design runs ISE 3.5 Patch 4, generally available since September 14, 2026, on the SNS-3895.

3. FortiOS 8.0 is out, and 7.2 support ended
FortiOS 8.0 was released on April 21, 2026, and support for 7.2 ended on September 30, 2026. The design's branch firewalls run 7.6, supported to January 25, 2030.²

4. Analytics hardware leaves sale in December

What this means for a buyer
A firewall and three identity appliances in last year's quotes can no longer be bought, or soon cannot. The design names what replaces each.
